A wizard Open Day!
Mutech's 3rd annual Open Day was attended by 31 people representing 23 companies and was the best attendance for an Open Day so far. This year's theme was the Wizard of Oz and guests were greeted by Dorothy at the door, before they followed the yellow brick road to the drinks table, where Scarecrow served a delightful Emerald City non-alcoholic punch. Next was the quiz and then the food, with a 'tin man alley' game as well.
Guests of honour were Willie McGranaghan and Liz Orme of the National Coal Mining Museum, Yorkshire, which is Mutech's chosen charity. Willie gave a brief but very interesting speech about his life as a miner and his job at the NCM. Liz was the lucky prizewinner of the Christmas quiz.
Outside caterers Jaspers provided the delicious nibbles and Chris Whalley of Nuttall Packaging won the delicious Ruby Slippers made by Bloc Chocolate, which was the centrepiece of the table.
It was fabulous to be supported by other ABMEC members, Business Network members and companies who had not previously had the chance to work with Mutech, as well as our loyal friends and customers who fought off bad weather and sniffles to have an enjoyable afternoon. And no Christmas Open Day would be complete without a visit from Santa, who was mightily impressive with his "ho ho ho" and sack of presents for our guests.
The photograph taken by Adrian Waine shows from L to R:
The Wizard of Oz (MD); Dorothy (Administrator); Tin Man (Ops Director); Scarecrow (Co Sec) and the Lion (Chairman).
Mutech would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a marvellous 2012.
