Tim - Design Director

My role includes meeting prospective customers and interpreting their needs; estimating; project planning; specification and protection strategy; circuit design; analysis, simulation and prediction, and prototype testing. I enjoy the level of diversity, the unique challenges that each project brings and the high sense of ownership of the end result – linked to being part of a small personal team. Outside of work my interests include skiing, squash, games (table-top and PC), hiking, canoeing and DIY.

Paul - Senior Software Engineer

My role involves writing software, occasionally writing documentation for functional safety projects, responding to customers’ requests and challenges, and supporting the rest of the Mutech team. As a member of BSI GEL/65/1 and the 61508 Association, I’m particularly interested in the areas of measurement and control, and functional safety. I enjoy Mutech’s friendly culture and the variety of projects I get to work on. In my spare time, I’m a singer songwriter.

Hugh – Senior Design Engineer

My role involves designing electronic circuits, PCBs, mechanical assembly and other drawings to comply with intrinsic safety or functional safety standards. I provide consultancy support to help our customers to become certified for intrinsic safety. I enjoy the challenge of working on a wide range of products and projects and working with colleagues with a similar work ethic and sense of humour! In my spare time I enjoy Aikido and Iaido martial arts, and writing.

Andy – Production Manager

I’m the main contact for production customers. My role involves quoting, order input, scheduling, tooling, parts procurement and assembly, instructing and overseeing production staff, maintaining quality and on-time delivery, and keeping customers informed. I enjoy working with a great bunch of people and building relationships with our customers.

Andrew – Senior Production Technician

I’m responsible for the smooth running of the surface mount line and for overseeing the production area. Mutech is an interesting and supportive place to work. I’m inspired by the hi-tech equipment, which provides me with excellent opportunities for on-the-job learning. Outside of work I enjoy cycling and walking.

Julia - Operations Manager

I’m responsible for HR, employee engagement, finance, operations, quality, compliance, sales and marketing. To support Mutech’s excellence in safety critical electronics, I’m a member of the ABMEC Council and Chairperson of the Conference Committee. I enjoy the diversity of my work and the opportunities I have to make a positive impact. I’m a competitive sports person, playing squash and tennis. I’m also an open water swimmer and sailor. In 2019, I completed the iconic 600-mile Fastnet Race.

Joanne – Quality Manager

I assist in the quality and operational management of Mutech, delivering administrative support to the leadership team and colleagues in all departments. My day-to-day role involves accounting, purchasing, customer service, marketing, reception duties and diary management. I enjoy being part of a small, but great team. When I’m not working, I enjoy family time, walking my dog, swimming and reading.

Jonathan – Design Engineer

I design, build, test and program circuits. I’m involved with intrinsic and functional safety, continuous improvement initiatives and design feasibility research. I’m a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and am working towards Chartered Engineer status. Mutech’s smaller size and supportive culture means I’m involved in a wide range of projects, making my work interesting and exciting.
